Simple Valentines

I tried to go for a simple look on some of the Valentine's cards I made this year. In reality I was aiming to use up some of the scraps of paper and card that I have accumulated throughout the past year.
Our local Art Shop in Darlington is selling off paper/card that was a fault on in batches of 12 sheets for 50p. Some of the card is double sided and really heavy quality. This black patterned card was one of those sheets. Not bad for 4p.
I stamped the words on to a piece of card that was left when I used a Spellbinders frame die.
The butterflies are also a Spellbinders die. I left them white accidentally as I had taken them out of the dies before I had coloured them!!! Typical
The ribbon is from Hobby Crafts Halloween selection. A bit worrying perhaps that I am using Halloween on a Love card!!

Cinderella.

I can never remember the names of the stamps I buy. Terrible I know! So I make up names for them.

For some reason this image always makes me think of Cinderella! Don't ask why just an indication of how troubled my mind is lol.

I went for red and black promarkers on this for either Valentines or an Anniversary.

The sentiment on this one is from Pink Gem, its a rather large stamp but very intricate. I used red ink and embossed it before cutting it using a spellbinders circle die.

The frame is also a Spellbinders die and I have matched it up with the corner frame dies.

I them tried again with purple and lilac and got a completely different feel from the image.

Instead of ribbon on this card I used glitter card.

The image flows out of the die cut using the technique of cutting round part of it before threading it through a die.

The sentiment is another of the Lili of The Valley digi stamps. So versatile.

Simply Sassy Ladies

I love these stamps and have really enjoyed trying to colour them in different ways. I was watching Create and Craft and saw one presenter use the Spellbinder dies in such a way as to get the image to come out of the die. Hard to example easier to show you.

I tried it with this card which i made for my husband's niece who has just turned 13 but is going on 19!! as all teenage girls are.

I cut out the bottom of the image and then threaded it through the die and simply put it through the cuttlebug.

The sentiment is a digi version of the Sentiments from Lili of the Valley. I was a little too slow to get the rubber versions but actually these are great as you can make them whatever size you want.

The flowers are from a set from MeiFlower. The set had about 6/8 of five colours.

The papers are from Nitwits which I love.

The ribbon is recycled from a Christmas food hamper we received at Christmas.

Busy Busy Busy

Hi

I can't believe its been a month since my last post. At the moment work is so busy that even my husband went to stay at his mother's as I was never in before 7.30pm every night sometimes as late as 9.30pm.

Having a nightmare getting my new camera to transfer my photos to the computer so left it and went to watch The Black Swan. Now I feel completely emotionally wrung out. What a film! Didn't see much of it as I had my eyes closed. Very very dark. I always like to try and see as many of the films nominated for the Best Film Oscar.

Saw The King's Speech a few weeks ago and was absolutely blown away by the whole film. Inception I thought was a modern version of The Matrix. I loved it but my husband said after about 10 mins he was completely lost.

I have actually been making cards but haven't got round to putting them as posts. Have enjoyed the 'colouring in' . At the moment trying to make as many cards as possible to sell as part of my fundraising for the London Moonwalk I am doing with 2 of my friends. It dawned on us on Saturday that it is only 13 weeks away and because of the weather we are still only managing to walk 5 miles on a night!!!!!!

I bought some of the new Simply Sassy Stamps and have enjoyed using my promarkers on them.

This is the card I made for my husband for Valentine's Day.

I tried out my new Spellbinders Ornate Tags and Hearts dies
The papers are recycled from packaging as I didn't have any black card!!
